Ms. Parker graduated with high honors from the University of Florida with a B.F.A. in Theatre Production, specializing in Costume Design. Part of her program included a costume intensive study abroad in London where she interned at Angels and Berman’s, a prestigious costume house; as well as designing the costumes for the play “The Last Threads” that played in London and Glasgow. She also lived in Orlando working on Cirque du Soleil’s creative team for the show “La Nouba” and was a make-up and wardrobe technician there for 5 years before moving onto the touring shows, “Alegria” and “Corteo”; eventually becoming lead shoemaker on the Las Vegas water show “Le Reve”. Alison’s career eventually branched into film as she became part of an exclusive team to work with director Victor Nunez (“Ullee’s Gold” & “Ruby in Paradise”). She traveled to the premiere of that film, “Coastlines”, at the Sundance Film Festival; but it took a position on Tim Burton’s “Big Fish” before finally running away from the circus to pursue a career in film in New York City. She was accepted into the NYC wardrobe union 764, and got her training working on “I am Legend”, “The David Letterman Show”, “Rachel Getting Married”, “The Bounty Hunter”…..gaining a variety of experience in the field including costumer to Gerard Butler. (There’s too many to mention, so let IMDB tell the rest of the story!!). Now, she’s here in New Orleans and, as the industry grows at an incredible rate, she wants to see more blossoming costumers learn the ropes, the ins and outs of costuming film, and develop a formidable costuming community.
